"The Nisos team were very helpful, our boat (Christopher Robin) was excellent and all in a stunning beautiful location. Our flight was delayed due to a technical fault and the Nisos team were fantastic in making everything a smooth as possible when we did arrive. Thoroughly recommended".- Simon King - Christopher Robin - May 2018

"Thank you Team Nisos for an amazing week sailing around the Ionian on Hearts Desire ❤️. This was a perfect boat for the two of us and it was like having our own brand new boat for a week.
Your team on the ground had us off the dock at our own pace - quick and thorough - and the drop off was even faster! You are there when we need you and it’s great to know that your ops crew will find us should it be necessary - it wasn’t, but on a sail boat you just never know!
The new Yachtfresh grocery delivery service was perfect to get sailing without having to find a supermarket.
We love you guys and will be back!
Yammas!!!" = Clare Burton - Hearts Desire - May 2018

"I don't really know where to start as so pleased. Last year we had a bareboat charter with Nisos Yacht Charter On the supurb Monte Rosa (Jeanneau 41DS), which in itself was absolutely out of this world brilliant experience never to be forgotten. So much so My wife and I enjoyed ourselves and the islands of Lefkada so much we decided to return and stay ashore in what I would call the out of this world Villa Manolia. What a great place to stay. As usual, Nisos had all it covered there wasn't a thing to worry about the villa was spotless well equipped with every amenity you could possibly want. In a stunning location on the hillside overlooking what can only be described as one of the best views around over the islands. On our arrival Linda the lovely lady that looks after the villa was there to greet us and show us around and had got us fresh fruit and bubbly there chilled for our greeting. And not forgetting Nikos the Handyman Gardener what a great bloke made a great stay even better. It was so fine it became hard to force ourselves away from the pool and the villa to explore the Island. Just to keep our toes in the water we made great use of the water sports at Horizon water sports which came with the villa. Also hired a speedboat for the day from Trident Speed Boat rental which was recommended by Horizon. All in all we are now torn between Sailing and ashore in a villa but there is one positive thing I can say whatever you choose at sea or ashore You will not be disappointed if you use Nisos Yacht Charter. Thank you everybody in the team again for a Great Holiday. We will be Back extremely happy." - Martin Finch - Villa Manolia - May 2018

"Another amazing week aboard Nina
Thanks to John, Laurie and the wonderful Kate for their friendly professional service

We took four newbies who had never been on a rowing boat let alone a wonderful Yacht Just the perfect week.... Life doesn't get much better than this
see you next year !" - Mark Browing - Nina - May 2018

"My wife and I just finished the most amazing week with the Nisos Assisted Bareboat Charter Scheme on Champagne Flute. The ABC, was extremely well run by Dale who was always professional and was more than happy to offer advice and tips from his wealth of knowledge. Assisted by Brian the ABC ran smoothly from start to finish. From Dale’s briefing each morning, to the boys being at each port to assist with lines at the end of the day the scheme took all the worry and stress from the trip. I cannot recommend Nisos enough. The charter yachts are amazingly well maintained and all the staff, including other skippers (Paddy and Lucy to name a few) and shore based staff are friendly and went the extra mile to make sure our trip was perfect. The best way to see Greece. Thanks Dale and Nisos. We will definitely be back." John - Queensland, Australia - May 2018

"We chartered "Captain Jack", and was incredibly impressed by the standard of the boat and it's condition, given it is a charter boat. Brilliant service from Nisos, through the booking, to the skippers briefing, and the ability to get away on first night of the charter was a real plus.
Well done Nisos, this is how it should be done." - Henry Bros - May 2018

"What an amazing week we have had with Nisos, we chartered a Bavaria 32 there was 3 of us, we had excellent service from Nisos , from our pick up from the Athens to Lefkas bus, they couldn't do enough for us , hand over was smooth and we were soon on our way on the beautiful Ionian sea.
We recommend the ABC assisted bareboat charter, and Dale and Joyce were always there with recommendations as to sailing routes and destinations, as well as taking our lines when we arrived at our destinations. Great backup from the shore based engineers...I would highly recommend Nisos as the No 1 charter company in the Ionian sea."
Alwyn , Queensland Australia. - May 2018

"Have sailed here before but were recommended to use Nisos, went on the ABC flotilla which still allowed us the freedom for the day to enjoy where and when we wanted too knowing we could get a mooring in the evening, paddy was fun and professional and ensured we got on with the sailing and just assisted when required, liked the fact we could dine on our own or meet with others if we liked, and what a nice group we had the pleasure to sail with, highly recommend".  - May 2018

"Big thumbs up to all. We took the skippered option and had the easy life as Cap'n Paddy took us on a tour of quiet bays for a swim and evening tavernas. We just needed to steer the boat as and when we felt the wind in our hair (or bald scalp). He offered all the insights in to sailing in general and could be that we go for our certificate next time.

We saw the aforementioned crew with the assisted mooring option and it seems a real winner with the bare boat if you do know how to sail but still want a holiday.

Highly recommended to all."

"The four of us Old Blokes set off to Preveza on the first EasyJet flight of the year for the first week of the season and our inaugural trip with Nisos, having discovered them at the Southampton boat show where we liked the cut of their Genoa. Well, it all exceeded our expectations. Lovely, friendly people with a passion for what they're doing and a real family feel to it. Fantastic boat, very well maintained and superbly equipped although we weren't quite sure what the spare toilet brush signified! Nisos also put us in touch with Anja and Bob who run a Greek wine outfit in Nidri. They delivered a case of superb wine and beer to the boat which really added to our experience. We would definitely recommend doing that.

We also had the privilege of being the first 'punters' to be shepherded by the Assisted Boat Charter (ABC) crew - Joyce and Dale. The ABC is an excellent compromise between the out and out flotilla and bare boat charter and J and D did a fantastic job of identifying locations and securing a mooring at the end of the day as well as being generally helpful and friendly folk. And no cocktail making competitions and other 'compulsory fun'! We could easily do bare boat but this way the skipper in particular gets a proper holiday and there is an opportunity to meet some new people on a fairly low key basis as well.

Already looking at next year. Great stuff!" - May 2018

"We are leaving a second review for Nisos because of the Monarch Airlines disaster.

A few weeks before we were due to leave for our second holiday of the year with Nisos, Monarch hit a reef and sank! This was a bit more than very distressing.

The positive thing was the kindness and understanding Nisos boss, Rowan, showed. Running a holiday company, and especially a yacht charter company, seems to be simple when everything goes right. The tricky part is when it doesn’t!

Two years ago we had a genoa jam and Nisos got an engineer to us in a couple of hours to fix it – and in snotty conditions too. That was brilliant.

But the Monarch disaster was a whole order of magnitude worse than a technical problem with the yacht and yet Rowan remained smiling, supportive and kind which is why we will be sailing with Nisos again in May – unless TUI have gone out of business by then!"

"Nice boat, not too old and well maintained. The Ionian is such a beautiful place to go sailing and there is so much choice of places to sail to. The staff at Nisos Yacht Charter were very helpful and assisted us when we phoned in with a question about some issue on the boat. Would definitely use them again"

"Nisos have provided me and my friends with a fantastic holiday for three years now, broken by a venture to another yacht charter firm in Corfu, which were blatantly inferior. Every year we've had issues with the yacht (end of season) and every time Nisos has moved heaven and earth to rectify the problems. This year we had a sail that would not unfurl. On day 2 we were provided with a replacement yacht with slab reefing instead which suited us just fine. Even when a baton came out of the sail and disappeared into the Ionian, we had a new one waiting for us at Port. Fantastic company, I'd never use anyone else."

"I chartered a yacht from Nisos for the second time this year. I was greeted at Preveza airport by the friendly Nisos reception team who efficiently arranged for a swift minibus transfer to the Perigiali quay where the yacht "Constance" was waiting for me. The yacht was beautifully prepared and spotlessly clean and equipped with plenty of bedding and towels for a comfortable stay on board.
The yacht "Constance" is now 10 years old but all equipment on board was working perfectly. This is a wonderful yacht to sail and is very easy to handle.
I had a most enjoyable week's sailing around the Ionian inland sea hopping from island to island.
I highly recommend Nisos Yacht Charter and look forward to chartering a boat from them next year." - Terry South - Constance - Skippered Charter - October 2017

"A first class holiday experience with Nisos - gorgeous boat, splendid sailing and the most helpful staff we have ever encountered on a holiday!

Laurie and Kate were marvellous. They sorted us out on our first evening and met us off the coach, even though we arrived into Nidri quite late due to the flight problems with Monarch. We also would like to thank Vassilis for all his brilliant ideas of where to visit and his top tips for tavernas and beautiful tranquil bays away from it all - what a star!

Finally, special thanks to Tony - always great fun!

Cannot recommend this company highly enough. They facilitated a truly wonderful holiday.

"I am just writing to say what a fabulous experience we had with Nisos last week.

The greeting at the hotel when we arrived made us feel relaxed immediately and we could enjoy the view and have a bite to eat without any administrative worries or rush to the boat. The team knew exactly what was going on with each party and it felt as if we were being treated as exclusive VIPs.
The ABC made the holiday a dream.
Kitty and Aaron are fantastic. They were so calm and did not assume anything. We definitely felt that if we were unsure of even the simplest thing they would help while at the same time they did not overwhelm us with instructions.
Although we both race yachts and have a lot of experience on the water it was our first time in Greece. Kitty and Aaron were always on hand to help with long lining or the odd crossed chain or indeed any advice. It was wonderful to have them waiting for us in harbour and it meant we could stay out sailing all day. I also liked that we did not have to follow a lead boat but that basically we were free to go and find deserted bays to anchor in for lunch and then come back together in the evening.
I did hear the two of them have to deal with an angry man at one port who was complaining about where we were moored and the two of them were very polite and professional despite his difficult manner. Also our tender ran out of petrol in the middle of a harbour and just as we thought we would have to row, Aaron arrived on his tender to rescue us proving that they constantly had a friendly eye on us.
The recommendations from Kitty for attractive beaches, good restaurants and bars were also brilliant.
When we mentioned that some oil had appeared after using the bilge pump and that our shower water was a bit smelly they immediately sorted it out.
We would like to book again for next year. We will try a slightly bigger boat next time.
It was a perfect holiday and I will be recommending Nisos to all my sailing buddies. " - Yvonne Winspear - Hearts Desire - June 2017

"Just had a great week sailing on Amelie. Managed to sail every day. Views spectacular. Swimming in crystal clear bays. Tavernas with good food. This is the 2nd time we have used Nisos and we can't fault them so will be booking again."  The Arnolds - Amelie - May 2017

"Chartered 'Captain Jack' for a week. A lovely boat. Never used this charter company before but it is one of the most professional charter companies I have ever had he pleasure to deal with. From start to finish, their attention to detail was outstanding. I would highly recommend both Nisos Yacht Charters and the sailing area. A good place for both the novice and more serious sailor alike. Thank you to all the team!" - Carl Shaw - Captain Jack - May 2017

"My wife and I have just returned from a three week trip on Summer Breeze a 35' Bavaria cruiser which was our first solo charter trip after I got my day skipper qualification last autumn. We did one week with ABC support from the brilliant Kitty and Aaron and two weeks free roaming on our own. Rowan the UK based co-ordinator co-owner from Nisos was very helpful, knowledgeable and patient from the start in guiding me through the options, selecting a boat that we could use on my first outing that was going to be easy with a crew with limited experience. Before we went lots of friends had said how challenging it was going to be with just the two of us but the combination of a very useable and reliable boat, excellent stern-to mooring guidance from Brian, and the ABC setting us up well meant that we had a very smooth trip.

We also found the support from Nisos backup great when we needed it (pretty minimal as the boat was well maintained) - the one time was with a prop fouled on a lazy line where the diver was with us within 30 minutes and fixed within the hour.

While we were out we saw a lot of the other charter companies and concluded that Nisos boats were much better maintained (not stuck with a day with a jammed anchor chain) and that the ABC was a much better option than the full flotilla social options which I am sure are great if you want to dance the conga each evening!

When we do it again we will definitely go with Nisos - and in the busy season definitely do ABC for all the harbour support. Many thanks to everyone at Nisos for a fabulous experience." - John Groom - Summer Breeze - May 2017

"We arrived on Sunday 14th May and "Maybe" Bavaria 32 was waiting for us - absolutely immaculate and of a vastly better standard than a normal charter yacht.
We had a full two hour briefing from Brian who was really excellent and gave us lots of "insider" tips on making the best use of "Maybe."
The rest of the week was just perfect. We sailed for 44nm, and 11 hours, one day and came back to a reserved space on the IBA pontoon. We paid extra for this service but it made for a stress free day.
"Maybe" was a dream all week.
We've been talking to Rowan already about sailing her again in the Autumn!" - Frank Melling - Bavaria 32 "Maybe" - May 2017

"We have just had a fabulous week sailing on Hestia, Nisos’s new Bavaria 46. This boat is a little different to most of their fleet in that she has a fully battened slab reefing mainsail, rather than the more normal in mast furling and also a full-length keel, rather than a shorter shoal draft keel. The fully battened mainsail is 10 sqm larger than it’s in mast furling version and has great shape and real power, which we found very useful in the lighter winds which can prevail in the mornings in this area. On a beat, the keel gives real bite and in 15 knots of wind on a full rig we were achieving 6-7 knots with course made good of 35-45 degrees, a great performance for a cruising yacht. 16 to 17 knots on a beat and it was time for the first reef in the mainsail, which still kept great shape. She happily sailed full rig on a beam reach from Fiscardo to Sivota in 16-20 knots of wind regularly reaching 10 knots, in fact we tacked back when we arrived to enjoy another hour of sailing.
Hoisting and dropping the main is simpler than may be expected, so long as we followed one basic rule…Keep the boat head to wind throughout the process…Dropping the nose off the wind by 20 to 30 degrees started to tighten up the mast track “cars” and so increased the friction, but once we worked this out, hoisting, lowering and reefing were a piece of cake. One great tip is to have a crew member “sweat” the main halyard at the bottom of the mast whilst another crew pulls in round the cockpit winch, leaving only the top 2-3 feet to finally winch using the winch handle. This proved a very quick and efficient way to get the mainsail up.
What else did we like? The large bathing platform, an idyllic Ionian afternoon swim and sunbathing area, also remote control so that we could close the boat transom when leaving her on a quay. The Bavaria twin rudder system, gives a highly responsive helm even in stronger winds. The cockpit, a sizable work area when sailing and a fantastic al-fresco dining area. The superbly equipped galley. The Rocna anchor as specified on all Nisos Boats and with 100m of chain, wow these anchors bite!! The huge cabins all with standing headroom (yes even the aft cabins) and masses of ventilation. The high level of specification which is also a trademark of Nisos with Garmin chart plotter, autopilot, wind instruments, fenders and mooring/longlines as you would specify for your own boat and a high quality Hypalon dinghy and outboard in pristine condition. The main engine was clean, quiet and happily pushed her along, giving 6 knots at a very relaxed 1750 rpm (but it was far more fun to sail).
Oh, and we set out to write a boat review, but let’s not forget the Nisos staff (UK and Greece). Nothing was too much trouble, all our arrangements (which were somewhat complicated earlier in the week) had been pre-arranged faultlessly (many thanks to Rowan and Kate). The boat was turned out immaculately (many thanks to Laurie and his friendly and helpful shore team) and we were even supplied with phone numbers for friendly taverna owners who would reserve us a mooring space.
So, if you’re a keen sailor and fancy a bit of the Ionian high life, with a large dollop of top class service and a boat that you will delight you for your stay, look no further…
Did we have any complaints…Yes, the heavens opened as we were returning the boat to base…Now there’s a challenge for you Nisos, we know you are good…
Happy sailing."

The Hartley Family - Bavaria 46 "Hestia" - May 2017

"We have sailed in the Ionian many times in the last few years, but this was the first time with Nisos. The Bavaria 'Maybe' was ideal for a couple, well equipped both for sailing and domestically, and we were fortunate to have wind conditions that enabled us to see what an excellent boat she is. The Nisos concept of assisted bareboat charter suited us very well; no fuss, no group meals etc but great support from the lead crew of Arran and Kitty. A big plus for Nisos is the efficiency and enthusiasm of the shore operation and, when needed, the availability of emergency help from a powerful RIB (to restore our hot water system on Day 2). We would definitely recommend them as a charter company, and hope to return next year!" Barry and Jill Barnes - "Maybe" Bavaria 32 - May 2017

"Carlsberg don't do Assisted Bareboat Charter but if they did they would be second to Nisos!
The five weeks we shared in July and August 2016 went so smoothly from start to finish, from being met at Preveza through to being dropped back off at the airport.
We saw the hard work in preparing the boats and the handovers, the whole Nisos crew can only be classed as so professional.
Our lead crew certainly showed other companies how to organise a flotilla, Kitty and Sean worked tirelessly throughout our stay, always there to help us in or briefing us on the next days passage but done in an individual way rather than the mass meetings of other flotillas, they had the contacts and experience to get us into very busy and varied spots when we saw other companies being turned away through lack of preparation. Even after all the boats were in, they were still there in an evening to advise on the best Tavernas and facilities.
Any problems we had were dealt with either by Sean or Kitty or the prompt speedy back up with Pedro's engineering team.
Laurie and Kate need to be so proud of the set up they've got going with Nisos, we may not be able to do such a long stay this year but would not think of going with any other company in the Ionian."

"We have been the lucky recipients of a few holidays onboard our friends' boat, Oneiro, and have seen how smoothly the Nisos team operate. We have also chartered in Croatia and experienced their bareboat charter holidays - good, but have nothing on Nisos! From airport collection to airport return they are top notch. This year we chartered The Choosy Floozie to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and to thank our friends for all the 'freebie' trips they've given us in Oneiro by inviting them to join us. What a fantastic holiday we had. Kate and Laurie made sure we felt special and had remembered our reason for chartering - fizz onboard! The boat was huge but handled well, (when she was moored alongside smaller boats she looked like a hamster with full pouches) and had everything on board to make it very comfortable for 4 couples. We had a technical hitch with a flushing loo (not caused by us thankfully) and Tony raced around the islands following us to ensure we didn't loose sailing time waiting for parts to be fitted. This hitch made us wonder why flushing loos are fitted as they seem a gizmo too far! When bad weather was forecast Kate was quick to text advice about suitable moorings and route choices. At the end of our holiday we were able to remain on board until only a couple of hours before our transfer back to the airport. The care and commitment that Nisos give to their clients is second to none and our only regret is that they don't charter in Croatia which we love. We will definitely book again and hope to find another good reason to celebrate with a Greek sailing holiday. Hmm! 30th wedding anniversary next year...that'll do!" - Megs Roseblade - Oneiro - September 2016

"This is the second time I have done a bareboat charter from Nisos. 4 of us including two novices on a 37 foot yacht. Another good week sailing round the Greek Islands. 7 nights away from base, 7 different ports and 7 watering holes bars and tavernas. What more can you ask for. Also 7 days sailing.

Nisos are easy to deal with and very transparent. All the costs in one upfront price. And when you have a little niggle, they are always there to help. Mention Tony from engineering, a very helpful cheery enthusiastic chap where nothing is too much bother to sort out.

In all, the extra service and enthusiasm makes a good holiday an even better one." - Stephen B - September 2016

"We have just returned to Australia from our 5 week European holiday, the highlight of our trip being sailing the Ionian Islands in Summer Breeze and would like to sincerely thank the Nisos team. This magnificent part of the world is truly complemented by the well organised team at Nisos. Our daughter & her partner choose the assisted bareboat charter, which was a fantastic option. The boat was extremely well maintained, well decked out & comfortable. Sean, Kitty & Pip provided ample, informative options to make the upmost of our experience. The entire team proved their professional expertise when having to untangle multiple anchors, the tangle that had been caused by an opposition company's boat. The Nisos team assisted the other companies yacht to sail off as their company had left them, the team worked together professionally & with good humour in an difficult situation to get the flotilla sailing. We will take great pleasure in recommending Nisos Yacht Charter, to encourage others to enjoy this incredible experience in beautiful Greece. " - Di and Greg Broome - September 2016

"With great weather, good winds in the afternoons idyllic stop-offs along the way and well organised berthing at night, this was a care-free week of fun sailing.

The level of organisation and support on the ABC was great, a nice balance between being supported without being smothered. The briefings were informative and accurate and the choice of locations could not be faulted. It took away all the hassle of route planning, leaving only the simple task of navigating to given locations.

The weather predictions were accurate and Sean, Kitty and Pip did a great job in keeping it all running smoothly, as did Tony, Johnnie and the engineers.

Thanks to them all, as well as Rowan, Laurie and the squads of support staff assembled on Sunday to support the change-over and simplify our transportation."

"This year was our second charter with Nisos we knew to expect excellent service and support and were not disappointed. In fact, I know that this year they went beyond what would be delivered by other charter companies.

The our late arrival was accommodated for without question and the yacht and briefing were excellent allowing us to set sail as soon as we were ready. A minor problem with a fuse was dealt with swiftly and efficiently by Tony (engineer) and his colleague who caught us up a tour first stop to deal with the issue.

We had the misfortune to be in Greece during the recent storms and were contacted in advance by Laurie and Kate to ensure we were aware of the impending weather and were in a safe and secure mooring. We were also offered alternative moorings arranged by them if we preferred to be in another location. By coincidence Sean and Kitty were in the same harbour with their Assisted Bareboat Charter group (of which we were not one) and they too stopped by to check we were OK and to tells us to call on them if we needed anything. They made sure to tell us we could call on them 24/7 and did indeed stop by in the early hours of the morning, during a stormy period, to check we were still safe and secure. I heard of other charter company customers that, during this period, they were offered no support or advice even when it was asked for.
Storm over and good weather reinstated, we were on our way again without incident.

We returned the yacht at the end of the holiday to a smooth handover and transfer with all arrangements for the day being very well communicated and we left feeling as if we were saying goodbye to family. We'll definitely be booking again for next year and have already recommended Nisos to friends who particularly want the support of an Assisted Bareboat Charter without the full flotilla experience." - Elaine Baines - Grey Lady - August 2016

"Nisos takes care of you from the beginning to the end:
- They care about your arrival and departure transfers to bus station or airport.
- The yatch is delivered superclean with everything you could need.
- Provide great advice and all kinds of details if you sail without skipper. Constantly available.
We felt really safe and in good hands.
I will definitely recommend them to friends and family, 100% reliable." - Sonia Turmo - August 2016

"Our first assisted Bareboat charter - and boy did we choose the right company for our needs. Small and fabulous personalised service .
Company and support when you needed it ,but fantastic individualised advice each morning on your own boat.
Thank goodness -No group meetings all being told the same as we saw with many overcrowded companies .
Sean and Kitty were amazing - not only their knowledge of the boats and islands , but they gently supported you as much as you needed. - AMAZING - I really want to keep this company a secret! - but must sing their praises . Thank you for an amazing 12 nights - 4 adults and 5 children with memories to last a life time ."

"We're a family of 4 with 2 smallish kids, and have chartered, borrowed and been on flotillas several times in the past in various parts of the Mediterranean. Nisos demonstrate a love of their customer that we haven't seen for many years.

What do Nisos do that others don't? Well, we were on their ABC scheme (Assisted Bareboat Charter, a bit like a light-touch flotilla), and it was a joy. They make everything easy, and treat their clients with great professionalism and care - beginners, improvers and experienced alike. They provide different levels of attention with different levels of advice, do individual briefings at flexible times, help out with mooring gently without militant direction and save you carefully chosen slots at the busier harbours.

They bent over backwards to get all the kids on the mini-flotilla kitted out with safety and snorkelling gear of the right size (and they'll buy it there and then for you if they haven't got it), will quickly replace anything you manage to break or lose (sorry about the winch handle, but we did manage to retrieve the sunk SUP paddle from over 10m...) and give you the most useful starter kit I've seen on a boat to date.

It all adds up to a lovely holiday where you feel looked after but given plenty of space.

And I've forgotten one of the best bits! You get 7 days off base instead of 5 (the norm in a week's flotilla) - the holiday does feel much longer because of that, and if you've had a hot journey and transfer, being able to head off on the water by 6pm on the day you arrive is by far the nicest way to cool down and relax.

Thank you to everyone at Nisos for a wonderful week. See you in October !" - Kim Mason - August 2016

"We have been in 2 flotillas before with different companies and Nisos are miles better!!!
Everything, from ordering the vacation, pickup at the airport, the boat, the crew of the flotilla and checking out was great.
Everyone are smiling all the time and help you in everything you need.
The extra charge for the flotilla really worth it - you get all the help and support and still free to do and go wherever you want.
We would like to thank especially Sean, kitty and Pip for being there for us and giving 5* service.
Can't wait for next year." - Yaron Adi - Hearts Desire - August 2016

"Another two weeks on board an immaculately prepared and maintained yacht. There are many yacht charter companies who promise the earth but I don't know of anyone else who consistently achieves this exceptionally high level of service in the Ionian.

From initial contact to when you hand your yacht back the customer is key and the product & service that Nisos delivers ensures an amazing sailing holiday. The level of personal attention means that you receive as much advice, information & assistance as you need and want from a very experienced, friendly team."

"For a balanced review, I've been thinking about any negatives to counterbalance the positives in my review - and I can't think of a single one! Having sailed in a flotilla last year, we loved the experience but there were a couple of niggles, mainly around the fact that we were herded together for evening meals, quiz nights and early morning briefings. We chose Nisos in the hope that these issues would not arise and we weren't disappointed.
On the first morning away - as promised, we sailed our yacht away within an hour of getting it! - we were up, dressed and sat in the taverna, wondering why no one else was there for the daily briefing. Well, that would be because the lead team came on board each yacht for an individual brief!! What fantastic service!
The whole week was superb: Kitty, Sean and Pip really know their stuff, whether it's how to fix a mainsail ( Pip and Kitty jumping around the boom is a sight to behold); how to fix a broken toilet (thanks, Sean - above and beyond the job description, no doubt!) or the most stunning mooring for the night. When bad weather confined us to port, I know that it was a big call for them, but they were absolutely spot on and we were so grateful for their professionalism.
As relatively inexperienced sailors, the support of the ABC was invaluable to secure our berths at the height of the summer and to address quickly any problems - thanks, Tony the engineer! Although there were absolutely no enforced get-togethers, being in a group meant that we got to chat to neighbours so we didn't feel isolated. Definitely the best of both worlds.
Overall, I can't recommend Nisos enough. All of the team - from Rowan's advice when you first enquire, to Laurie and Kate at base in Greece, to Tony and his colleagues in support and Pip, Kitty and Sean throughout the sailing - clearly love their work and will do whatever it takes to make sure you have a fantastic holiday." - Jan Mccan - Summer Breeze - August 2016

"From start to finish Nisos takes all the hassle away. Kitty, Sean and Pip and the support crew cannot do enough to make sure your holiday is the best. Our second time with Nisos and it won't be the last. Two weeks on Constance Bav.37. Perfect boat, exemplary lead crew, and wonderful weather!! Thank you." - Steve Banham - Constance - August 2016

"As soon as one has experienced what Nisos team has to offer, one would not wonder why there is only one type of rating clicked by everyone - "excellent". This was our first charter, and you can probably imagine how nerve wrecking it can be to get a vessel and be waved away. And still...
The yacht was a new Sun Odyssey - everything in perfect condition. The first four days our crew was a complete trouble for Nisos team, Laurie specifically, but he stoically dealt with us and did everything he could to fix the problems. The other three days we could finally relax (with all the lessons learned) and enjoy the sailing.
Having heard of the handovers in Greece I didn't realize ours was over, as it was so swift and easy.
I am really grateful to Rowan for dealing with all my question before and after signing the papers and to Laurie, Kate and the team for making it all work when in Greece. Thank you all.
I can't recommend Nisos Yacht Charter enough, really. Excellent!" - Alexy Lysenkov - Hearts Desire - August 2016

"Having done a number of yacht charters before I can honestly say this was by far the best yacht charter experience we have ever had.
We were collected by the Nisos team from the airport and traveled in luxury to the charter base. The base was a peaceful, relaxing place to be - in complete contrast to our previous experience of charter bases! The briefing was very much focused on how we could get the best our of the holiday and not the usual arduous waiting around / inventory process we have been used to with other charter companies. And the Nisos staff were incredibly friendly, polite and helpful.

Once underway, the boat was in immaculate condition and the towels and sheets crisp and clean. We were offered the option of contacting the base at any time should we need them - but the Ionian is a very simple place to get around so we did not have the need to do so. The service even extended to delivering a few missing items from our initial shop from a rib whilst underway on our second day out!

Another bonus with Nisos is that you have the boat for a full 7 nights so you can spend the final evening where you choose to.

If you are planning a yacht charter in the Ionian I would not hesitate to recommend using Nisos." - Bruce Penson - Champagne Flute - August 2016

"Having just returned from our 2 week sailing holiday with Nisos Yacht Charter for the 2nd year running, we would like to once again thank the whole of the Nisos team for their professionality, enthusiasm, and extremely efficient back-up squad. Nina is a superb sailing boat, great performer and we are looking forward to our next trip with her next year. Once again, a huge thank you for making things run smoothly for us!!" Freddie & Val Cecchini & the rest of the crew - Nina - August 2016

"We had a fantastic week on board Polly, a 39ft Bavaria. The area is very picturesque, with great sailing, very easy to navigate and some fantastic stopovers. The staff were very helpful and made us feel very welcome at all times which added to our experience. We are looking forward to our next sailing trip in Greece and will definitelty be booking it through Nisos." - Andrew Howarth - Polly - August 2016

"This was the first time I had chartered a boat and skippered in the Ionian. I was a bit nervous about the stern to mooring so Nisos arranged for some tuition before we left which was brilliant. The boat (Tranquility) was well maintained and equipped and the area stunningly beautiful. Any questions or problems we had (which were only minor) were dealt with quickly. Thank you Nisos - I'd definitely recommend chartering with you." - Karen Dorontic - Tranquillity - August 2016

"Before booking we read the reviews of Nisos. We were not in the least bit disappointed and will not look at other options when it comes to chartering next year. We opted for the Assisted Bareboat Charter(ABC) for the first week but this proved to be such great value for money, we carried it through to the second week. It really is the closest one gets to bareboat charter but with the piece of mind of knowing there is help and advice just a phone or VHF call away. We had a problem coming in to Nidri(of our own doing) and to our amazement, Sean and Kitty were on scene within 10mins. Sean helped us secure the boat whilst Kitty explained what local taverna's had to offer to my wife.
All the Nisos team were a pleasure to have met. The boats were extremely well maintained, clean and as complete in terms of equipment to ensure we had a comfortable trouble free holiday. We met 6 other families chartering from Nisos and all of them were of the same opinion. No complaints at all.
Well done Nisos...a credit to the chartering sector." - Kevin Grainger - Sophia Christianos - August 2016

"Our second trip with Nisos and only our second charter and visit to the Ionians. This time we went bareboat rather than with the support system of Sean & Kitty but back on 'Summer Breeze'. We enjoyed last year but this trip was definitely a bit less stressful as there was less of a learning curve and we were more familiar with the conditions and geography. Definitely glad we had Sean & Kitty on hand last year to give assistance and advice when needed but preferred the freedom this year of choosing our own itinerary from day 1. This year we opted for moorings with less amenities and enjoyed it all the more for it as it was more relaxing and we also opted to spend a couple of nights rather than moving on again each morning. We travelled with two other families in Nisos boats which meant plenty of downtime for the adults whilst the children amused themselves in the water. Not as much wind this year so less sailing more motoring. A big thank you to the guys who came out to sort out a technical issue at short notice and resolved the problem immediately-we felt extremely confident in the level of assistance and their ability to resolve any issues. We are already talking about going back next year and exploring all of the places we didn't get to this year and maybe attempting 2 weeks - something I never thought i would want to do with a 5 & 10 year old on a yacht." - Summer Breeze - July 2016

"We have just returned from an astounding honeymoon aboard the Jeanneu 41DS ‘Monte Rosa’.
From the first discussions with Rowan, 18 months before the wedding through til now, Nisos have been the most organised, friendly, family orientated business I have ever known.
Our skipper, Steve Guttridge, was probably one of the best sailors on the seas, along with an excellent companion, as well as making himself scarce on plenty of occasions to make this the most special honey moon you could ever wish for.

The boat was prepped excellently, even with a bottle of Champagne which I didn’t expect!
We had days of calm and relaxation mixed with afternoons of exciting sailing. As a sailing virgin, I found a new desire that I only want to take further and further. And the evenings, with the experienced and knowledgeable Steve, found us in the best restaurants with the freshest and most delicious food.

As a business owner as my holidays approach their bitter end, I always look forward to getting home and back in the rush. This has been the only holiday I have ever been on that actually involved me feeling sad that I couldn’t stay for longer. It was only returning to the kids that forced me back.

I can’t wait to do it all again. If every detail remained the same it would still be the best holiday ever, but I know that the whole Nisos team are forever be trying to improve, what is already the best holiday team ever.

Thank you so much for all you have done to start off my married life and given us the best holiday ever!" - Lee Thorpe - Monte Rosa - July 2016

"We have just returned from a superb week of sailing around the Ionian islands on a boat chartered from Nisos Yachts, who are based at Perigiali, Greece. We have to say that we found them an excellent company - everything was very well organised and we were made welcome from the start (even during the planning phase!). "Maybe", a Bavaria 32, was great fun to sail and very well equipped, including masks, fins and snorkels, a sit-on kayak, and a tender with engine. One thing we particularly liked was having an “all in” price that covered everything rather than having a lot of options to have to choose from.

After a friendly welcome and introduction to "Maybe" by Sarah and Laurie, we set off on a round trip including Sivota, Sami, Poros, Frikes, Kasos, Kalamos and Vathi before returning to Perigiali. The days settled into a relaxing pattern of a leisurely breakfast (fresh fruit salad and coffee) and exploring our surroundings in the morning when there was little wind, then leaving at lunchtime for the next destination in time to catch the wind in the afternoon. A perfect combination!

Even those of us who had not sailed before vowed that we would be back next year, definitely with Nisos Yachts!" - Robin Mathews - Maybe - July 2016

"Another superb assisted bareboat charter with Nisos around the Ionian islands. Friendly, professional competent staff makes our family sailing holiday a joy for us parents and our two young children. Looking forward to another trip with you next year, thanks especially to Sean & Kitty our lead boat and Kate & Laurie at the base. Both our children are urging us to go for a fortnight next year, they enjoyed it so much!" - Sinead Baker Beale - Islay - July 2016

"We took advantage of the assisted bare boat charter facility offered by Nisos. The whole holiday was very professionally managed from the greeting at the airport to the taxi arrangements at the end of the week. The staff are excellent providing great customer service and all very relaxed and confident. We had the assistance of Shawn and Kitty for the week to provide a programme for idyllic destinations, with assistance mooring at the end of the days sail. The evenings are very informal and flexible. We would thoroughly recommend this charter company and will be using them again." - David King - Maybe - July 2016

"This is a super company, all involved are delightful and helpful and very experienced. The boats are very well maintained and the sailing location is spectacular. The wind does always seem to be on your nose whichever direction you want to sail - but a perfect balance of wind, sun, beautiful settings and top notch boats.
If your flight arrives early be prepared for a wait while your boat is prepared for you, but you are well looked after in a small hotel with bar, food and sun-beds so as long as you get into the relaxed holiday mode you won't find it a problem.
This was a second trip with Nisos and I very much hope to go again. Lots of sailing area to choose from so you can return without having to revisit the same haunts, not that that would be a problem as all so lovely."

"This is our third consecutive charter with 'Nisos". Some companies go " off the boil " , or stand still, not this bunch, they go from strength to strength . The standard of yacht presentation is first class, the fleet is evolving with new yachts - we chartered " Champagne Flute ", a new Jeanneau 41 DS .The support team is superb . The small details count . On arrival the onboard briefing is comprehensive , and on departure any feedback is noted and valued . We will definitely be returning next year ." - Alan Griffiths - Champagne Flute - July 2016

"We returned on 17th July from an Assisted Bareboat Charter (ABC) on Captain Jack, a beautiful boat, which handles extremely well, and was very comfortable to live aboard.
We spent 14 nights on the boat in temperatures in the mid thirties, made almost bearable with fans in all cabins and main salon, only thing that would better this would be air con! We cannot thank the "lead crew" (Sean, Kitty and Pip) enough. They were extremely helpful, patient and encouraging especially at the stressful time of mooring. Their informal briefings and local knowledge of the various marinas and bays is invaluable in saving time looking for tavernas and bars, and pointing out beautful bays for lunch stops and swimming. Not even getting stressed when we turned up at the wrong marina resulting in the skipper having to wear a "stupid hat" the next day as a punishment.
Nisos the company is right at the top of the tree when it comes to customer service, and nothing was too much trouble. They go the extra mile, even driving from base to Sivota to rescue my daughters handbag which she had left in a restaurant! We will definitely be using Nisos again, especially if they do something in the Northern Ionian which is something we would really like to do next.
All things considered it was one of the best holidays we've ever had.
Thank you Rowan, Laurie, Kate and all the staff at Nisos, Chris, Kim and all the crew on Captain Jack" - The Gammon Family - Captain Jack - July 2016

"Four of us set off in the beautiful Champagne Flute having been throughly briefed and warmly welcomed by all at Nisos.
We spent a week sailing around the Ionian Islands mooring in different stunning locations each evening. Fiscardo and Kioni were my personal favourites.
Throughout the trip if we needed any advice etc Nisos were available to contact and extremely helpful.
The yacht was very spacious with two large double ensuite bedrooms and plenty of cabin area to move about in. It had all the necessary kitchen items and was finished to a very high standard. A beautiful sleek yacht who moved effortlessly through the water.
I would highly recommend Nisos if you are looking for that perfect sailing holiday." - Champagne Flute - July 2016

"Fully inclusive prices, great yachts and above all else totally amazing customer service with Laurie & Kate being the best possible managers. Look nowhere else for a truly exceptional holiday. Huge thanks to everyone at Nisos :-)" - Charlie Hunt - Tranquillity - July 2016

"We spent two weeks with Nisos in the Ionian in July 2016. The first week was with their Assisted Bareboat yacht charter and the second in Villa Nisos. This was the culmination of a long held dream and the first time we had rented a yacht outside the Norfolk Broads.

To keep costs down we'd rented one of the older yachts (2006), expecting it to be a bit rough round the edges, but we were delighted to find that it had been very well maintained and was in excellent order. I could hardly find a scratch on it inside or out

The Assisted Bareboat Charter (ABC) is a more relaxed version of a flotilla, and suited us well, as it was a small group of boats (seven plus a lead boat) and there was no pressure to socialise in the evening - we could keep as much time for the family as we wanted. It was reassuring to know that we definitely had a mooring for the evening, and help was available with mooring if we needed it.

An itinerary had been planned, as it was a busier time of year, but the stops chosen were a good mix of nights in quiet coves and others in bustling tourist towns.

The sailing was a delight, as the area is known for good afternoon winds, but it is also well sheltered making it very suitable for us.

The villa is very well equipped, and spacious. I would guess that it was fitted out 2-3 years ago and everything was in good order. It has air conditioning, a large barbecue and balconies for each of the three main bedrooms, which all enjoy great views across the bay. Two bedrooms are ensuite. There is a 10m long pool at the side of the villa, so you can look over to the islands as you enjoy a morning swim.

But the real reason that I have given a 5 star review is the people. We had several minor hiccups during the two weeks. None of them were Nisos' fault - one time my daughter was ill, another my wife forgot her driving licence, a third we got ourselves lost while out driving - but every time Nisos staff rose to the occasion and sorted things out for us without us ever feeling a burden." - Liz King - Iona - July 2016

"Great welcome and handover to a very well maintained yacht with plenty of extras. Thanks for an amazing holiday. If you have not chartered before, don't waste your time with the others. If you have then you will greatly appreciate the difference here." - Doug Innes - Amelie - June 2016

"Sailing round the islands in the Ionian Sea is a wonderful experience. The scenery is dramatic and stunningly beautiful (and surprisingly green, even in July). The bays and coves are enticing, often with characterful fishing villages on their fringes. Although these are inevitably bowing to the needs of tourism, the locals seem genuinely pleased to welcome you, the bars and taverns are family run (no McDonalds here!!), and they provide food full of flavour and variety (with a litre of very drinkable House Wine about 8 Euros).. But the biggest plus was renting a boat through Nisos Yacht Charter. The boats are well maintained and serviced. If you should have a problem after leaving base, the delightful staff come to your assistance very quickly, arriving in their high powered ex-RNLI rescue RHIB. If you should be unlucky enough to have a real disaster, the Nisos package includes Comprehensive Insurance covering any loss, breakage or damage. Now that is a security that really gives you peace of mind to enjoy your holiday to the full." - Anthony Addison - Polly - July 2016

"Our 4th year with the company and again flawless treatment from arrival to departure. Yachts in excellent condition and any problems dealt with quickly by Pedro and his team. An excellent week." - Philip Waghorn - Nina - June 2016

"We've chartered with many companies over the years and this was one of the best experiences from booking through to the final goodbye. This was our 1st charter in the Ionian and it seems talking to others, on other charter boats with repeat experience of the area, that they will also seek out Nisos for their future charters !!
Their main reasons were:-
1. Their 1st night in Lefkada - not allowed to sail until next day ! and Lefkada lacks something in "charm" (we sailed to Vathi 1st night, and Nisos helped book our berth with the marina before we left Perigiali - at Vathi, very helpful staff took the lines, water, power, showers, beer - what's not to like). An excellent 1st night destination, loads of choice for restaurants, bars, enough places for more than one night but not at all too big or commercial.
2. The other charter boats had to get their boats back to Lefkada (joy!) the night before departure. We instead stayed the night in Nidri and sailed back a short hop the following morning, killed an hour chilling out over late breakfast in the hotel bar area (base for arrival briefing, 1st day) and then took the taxi to the airport. On balence, Nidri was the least favourite location we visited (a bit too busy) but we could have picked another location with hindsight.

All in all, it seems we had 2 more days doing sailing and visiting more places than some of the other charter boats. [packs!]

We also had Lady K for the week and it's a very nice boat. Handles great for stern-to moorings [also has a bow thruster].

Here's another tip, it's nice to have an electric windlass that works - we saw some charter boats with manual windlass.

All in all, a great week, enjoyed by all." - Hizzards - Lady Katerina - June 2016

"Just got back from a weeks sailing with Nisos and what an amazing time we had. We used the ABC with Sean and Kitty, they were so helpful, what an asset they are ! Hearts Desire was perfect for us and was a pleasure to sail.
